The Censor Board of Film Certification has alarmingly opposed to the controversial content of the so called new ‘porn-comedy’ release, Mastizade. The raunchy revealing templates of the movie were enough to ignite the fire in the censor board. It was reported that some of the dialogues and sex loaded one liner were allegedly used irrespective of being denied of permission by the censor board. The Censor Board was however considered to be highly responsible for making the film an incomplete sex comedy. Many of the revealing lips were deliberately cut short as they were considered to be extremely vulgar in content and appeal. Probably the film’s box office earnings would have been much better if the Censor Board had been a little more liberal in broadening their minds and loosening the content.
The sex comedy was initially decided to have been released in May but due to its excessive sexual content it was refused to hit the screens. Later the board demanded to cut few scenes and get an A certificate, to which the producers did not agree. According to the recent buzz the film’s crew has now moved to Tribunal court against the CBFC. The directors and producers are in a state of turbulence with the promotions of their movie that is already so much ruined by the CBFC.
Real life stories in Bollywood have not always garnered appreciation. Bollywood filmmakers have often turned them into counterfeit commercial drama.
But the movie “Airlift” which released on 22nd January 2016 suffers no such mishaps. Raja Krishna Menon’s “Airlift” is a true story that occurred in 1990,during the first Gulf War. Over 170,000 Indians were stranded in Kuwait, in Western Asia, when it was attacked by Iraq. A few local businessmen and Indian diplomats took on the courageous task of bringing those people home(India). Finally it is collected more than 100 crores on Box Office.
AirLift Review and Ratings
“Airlift” starring Akshay Kumar, Nimrat Kaur, Purab Kohli and Lena in pivotal roles has delivered this war story with efficiency. According to the director, Raja Krishna Menon, he wrote the script after studying the whole incident and predicament of Indians based in Kuwait.
The film focuses on a wealthy and politically connected Indian businessman, Ranjit Katyal(Akshay Kumar). He is not a patriot which is made clear boldly by his derogatory remarks about the country of his origin. Yet going against his wife, Amrita’s(Nimrat Kaur) wishes, Katyal decides to help the distressed and threatened Indians stranded in Kuwait. He sets up a refugee camp to house and feed thousands and he maintains communication with the external affairs ministry official in Delhi, Sanjeev Kohli(Kumud Mishra).
The cinematographer, Priya Seth’s impressive aerial shots and outstanding Middle Eastern detailing compliments the film very well. This is a deftly done film, which does slide a little in the second half, but never abandons its mission. Nimrat Kaur in this film keeps pace with her co-star though she appears mostly silly by speaking softly with a strain of Punjabi. She constantly wears make-up despite of how distressed her character is, like a woman from an Indian television drama.
